The refurbished Nursery Facility within the Depot Complex was officially opened on Saturday 7 May 2011 by Mr Richard Simpson, Chairman of the Botanic Gardens and Parks Authority Board of Management.

The Facility now has designated office and storage space, a temperature-controlled cool room to assist with seed germination, propagation facilities and hardening off areas. The refurbishment has greatly improved the layout and facilities available to the Growing Friends and the Orchid Group to carry out their work in propagating plants for the Friends of Kings Park Native Plant Sales.
