The Friends of Kings Park offer two scholarships annually, providing funding for the professional development of Kings Park volunteers.

Both scholarships are open during April and May each year. Applications for the 2018 round close on Tuesday 5th June.

The Tom Alford Scholarship was named in honour of our inaugural president and long time Management Committee member. Tom was President for seven years and a major driver in getting the Friends where it is today.

Up to $4000 is available for volunteers to attend conferences, travel to other botanic gardens, or undertake other professional development opportunities.

This scholarship is open to members of the Friends of Kings Park who are volunteers within Kings Park, and can be split between two or three applicants.

The Mary-Rose Paterson Scholarship is in memory of Mary-Rose Paterson, who served on the Management Committee and had a great love of our unique flora.

The aim of the scholarship is to encourage volunteers to develop their capacity to raise awareness and promote Kings Park.

The Scholarship is open to all Kings Park volunteers, and is valued at $2000.

Scholarship applications for 2018  have closed. The next round of scholarship will be advertised in the Friends newsletter during the first quarter of 2019.

Please note, applicants can only be awarded a scholarship once. Any queries can be address to the President of the Friends of Kings Park c/o the above email address.
