The next Friends of Kings Park Plant sale is on Saturday 15th and Sunday 16th September. We would love the assistance of any members of the Friends of Kings Park. Experience is not necessary!
Please complete the form below to volunteer for the Plant Sale.
The Friends of Kings Park Plant Sales are made possible through the dedicated efforts and camaraderie of an impressive team of volunteers.
Four times a year, up to 90 volunteers come together in numerous shifts and diverse job roles to sell over 40,000 native plants into home gardens. It doesn’t matter how small or big your garden is, you will be able to find that unique, beautiful plant for your garden.
VOLUNTEER ROLES AT PLANT SALES
Nursery pre-sort: The morning prior to each plant sale the folding benches and fencing needs to be assembled on Exhibition Ground.
Sale-Set Up: Early on the morning of the sale, around 6am, volunteers swing into practised routines to move all the plants from the nursery to the sale site.
Sales Desks: Volunteers help buyers total their purchases then direct them to the Eftpos and Cashiers volunteers where payment is made.
Plant Tables: Throughout the sale volunteers attend to the plants on the benches, keeping them organised and well stocked, as well as assisting the public with their enquiries.
Gates: Volunteers meet and greet plant buyers on arrival, answer questions, offer baskets and have a friendly smile. They then check receipts as the buyers leave the sale.
Membership Desk: An opportunity for members to renew their membership or to encourage new membership.
Pull Down: The essential part of any day is the pack up! Many hands make light work and we are always looking for volunteers to help after the sale.
Nursery Busy Bee: A Wednesday morning after the sale, volunteers support the Growing Friends to organise their benches in preparation for the next sale.
