Our First Online Native Plant Sale!
Thank you to everyone who helped us trial our first Online Native Plant Sale over the last few weeks.
Following the cancellation of our normal May Plant Sale due to COVID-19, we were keen to find a way to continue providing beautiful native plants for sale. As the pandemic and restrictions evolved, the decision was made to hold an online plant sale on our website with a “click and collect” style pick up. We are very grateful to BGPA staff who advised and assisted with the planning and were thrilled to have the opportunity to trial our new Online shop.
Our initial offering was to members-only, as a thank you for their continued support and a benefit of membership of the Friends. Members enthusiastically shopped online for varieties from Anigozanthus hybrid, Kings Park Royale to Hibbertia stellaris, Orange Stars.
Soon after, the sale was opened to the public, who appreciated the opportunity to access the high-quality native species grown by our volunteers in the Kings Park Nursery. Using a “click and collect” style pick up, our customers came in droves over the course of a weekend to collect their beauties.
A big thank you to our team of volunteers who gave up their time to grow, sort, pack the plants and assist with the collection weekend – we really appreciate you! The happy faces of our members and customers collecting their plants was heartwarming.
